Bhupinder Singh Chaggar on Tabla, Jesse Banister on Saxophone, Soumik Datta on Sarod, Giuliano Modarelli on Guitar and Kenny Higgins on Bass. Together, they are a unique collective of musicians who bring their individual style, strengthen and passion to exploring new ways of understanding and making music. To create a powerful and distinctive sound that is, so far unknown to the western or eastern world.

Jesse Bannister a unique musician who is respected as the leading Indian Classical Saxophonist in the UK has composed a new piece for festival favourites Garforth Jazz Rock Band.

This concert will feature support from GJRB including the newly commissioned piece and a full set from Samay.

Samay includes three Leeds College of Music Alumni:
   - Jesse Bannister, the leading Indian Classical Saxophonist in the UK
   - Bhupinder Singh Chaggar, Leeds' brilliant Tabla Player and
   - Italian born guitarist Giuliano Modarelli.

This talented collective of musicians are taking music into a timeless zone. At the heart of Samay is a unique blend, merging styles and instruments. The band features highly accomplished musicians from India and Europe, combining traditional forms with a range of contemporary influences to reinvent the sound of Indian music.
