Escape the hurly-burly, as once a month sampad and Town Hall, Symphony Hall present outstanding Asian artists from the UK and the Indian subcontinent in relaxed, informal sessions. Chill out, take your shoes off, close your eyes and experience the richness and variety of India's musical heritage.
This month features Ranjana Ghatak (vocals) and Jesse Bannister (saxophone)
Ranjana leads a fusion of global folk and Indian Classical sounds, using British and South Asian instrumentation with Indian and English vocals.
Ranjana will be accompanied by saxophone maestro Jesse Bannister, plus Alex Dale (bass guitar), Joost Hendricks (drums), Al Macsueen (piano), Joy Lorraine (vocals) and Upneet Singh Dhadyalla (tabla).
Ranjana is fortunate to have sax maestro Jesse Bannister joining the band and he will also lead a solo set.
In association with Town Hall Symphony Hall. Supported by Arts Council England and Coutts Charitable Trust.

The band features highly accomplished musicians from India and Europe who are taking music into a timeless zone. Where their unique ability to blend, merge styles and instruments and weave it altogether using traditional forms with a range of contemporary influences to ultimately reinvent the sound of Indian music and share with the 21st Century global listener.
This concert featured Giuliano Modarelli on Guitar, Jesse Bannister on Saxaphone, and Bhupinder Singh Chaggar on Tabla.

The Halle in association with Milapfest is delighted to announce a spectacular celebration of South Asian culture - the Halle Taj Festival.
Manchester's stunning Bridgewater Hall will be transformed on between 27 and 28 June for the festival, which forms part of the Orchestra's 150th anniversary festivities.
On Friday 27 June at 7.30pm, one of the world's greatest sarod players Ustad Wajahat Khan, will perform his much-awaited world premiere, Concerto for Sarod and String Orchestra. The concert also features one of today's most exciting collaborative partnerships, tabla player Bhupinder Singh Chaggar and saxophonist Jesse Bannister as they perform a joint composition called Freedom of the Soul.
Joined by Halle strings, voices, sitar, santoor, accordion and Scottish harp, this piece received fantastic reviews at its world premiere by the Halle at Sheffield's City Hall in March 2008.
